## What this site is

Spotlight Contest is an online platform for hosting, joining, sharing, voting in,
judging, and completing public competitions. A public user can join an eligible
active contest as a contestant, upload the photo currently required for their
contestant profile, and share a unique entry link so their community can vote when
voting opens. Organizers manage contest setup, entries, voting, judging, moderation,
analytics, and published results.

Spotlight Contest is not a photography-only brand. Contestant photos are the current
entry format, but the platform is intended for beauty showcases, campus and community
competitions, talent recognition, and broader contest formats over time, including
representative or leadership voting where appropriate.

## Key entity types

- Contest: A time-bounded competition with optional entry fee, prize or recognition, voting
  rules (free or paid), and a winner-selection method (vote count, judge panel,
  or manual). Contests can be standard or league-format (multi-round elimination).

- Entry / Submission: A contestant profile in a specific contest. The current
  implementation includes an uploaded photo, title, description, shareable URL,
  and vote count.

- Contestant: A registered public user who joins an eligible active contest and
  publishes an approved entry that can be shared with voters.

- Organizer: A registered user (individual, brand, or organization) who creates
  and manages contests. Organizers receive 90% of paid vote revenue.

- League Round: A stage within a league-format contest. Submissions with the
  highest votes advance; others are eliminated.

## Content model

Each Contest has many contestant Entries. Each Entry belongs to one Contest and one
User. Voting rules vary by contest and can include free, paid, hybrid, judge-panel,
manual, or multi-round league workflows. Winners are published after verification.

## Currencies and payments

Each contest declares its own currency and minimum vote price. Supported payment
methods are shown at checkout. NGN (Nigerian Naira) contests can use Paystack,
including eligible bank-transfer payment options.
